On October 1st, Mr. Klaus Bückner joined our team as new quality manager.
He is responsible for the whole sector of quality assurance.
Based on his qualification as well as his long-time experience and strong commitment he will enable us to satisfy our customers' quality requirements in the future.

As a result of its successful recertification the Wilhelm Schmerbeck GmbH received the "Lloyd´s Register gold award“ on September 23,2008.
The Schmerbeck company has been supervised by LRQA (Lloyd´s register Quality Assurance) since March 1997.
The dedication of management and staff in means of quality as well as the enhancement of the quality management system according to 9001:2000 and the continual optimization of the operation processes shall be recognized by this award.
After two days of auditing the responsible auditor, Mr. Srikumar Sikdar, handed over the „gold medal“ to Mr. Feld and the Schmerbeck staff.
Our colleague Jens Löhnhardt finished his degree as graduate in Business Information Systems.
He graduated from the distance learning institute of Dortmund on 18th July, 2008.

On September 1st, Mrs. Ursula Schumacher celebrates her 25th jubilee at the Wilhelm Schmerbeck company.
She started her commercial education on September 1st, 1982 and has been working in the export department ever since she passed her final exams.

On February 1st, 2007 our managing director, Mr. Jürgen Feld, can pass in review 30 years at the Wilhelm Schmerbeck company.
After having finished his degree as political economist, he entered the export department on February 1st, 1977. Finally, he was appointed managing director of the Wilhelm Schmerbeck GmbH on March 1st, 1981.
Mr. Feld leads the business together with his wife Barbara, and since the preceding year he is also supported by his daughter.
Another year has gone by and we begin the new one celebrating another jubilee.
On January 1st, Mr. Franz-Josef Bönner, our officer with procurement, can look back on 10 years of work at the Wilhelm Schmerbeck company.

On December 1st, 2005 the Wilhelm Schmerbeck GmbH
renewed the certification by Lloyd's Register - Quality Assurance.
The new certificate DIN EN ISO 9001:2000 is now valid until December 2008.
On August 1st, 2004 Mr. Hans-Jürgen Brüll celebrated his 25th jubilee at the Wilhelm Schmerbeck GmbH.
In 1979 he started his education and has been working in our dispatch department since that time.
The management and his colleagues congratulate him on this jubilee and look forward to many years auf good cooperation.
On July 12, 2004 our trainees Jessica Brake and Maike Randewig
passed the exam in order to complete their commercial education.
As a passing grade both of them obtained a "2" (excellent).
Ms. Brake is now employed in the National-Department while Ms. Randewig works for the International-Department.

What had originally been planned to be a short renovating period has finally been completed - after half a year of reconstruction!
Our company has now obtained a totally new look.
The inside als well as the outside of the entrance have been remodeled by the architectures Schnabel Krach from Neuenrade.
The modern glass construction combined with a stylish stainless-steel-grating and the entrance´s new colorful design enables visitors to enjoy a friendly atmosphere right from the start.
Since 1997, we have already been certified according
to DIN EN ISO 9002:1994.
Now we have again moved one step further.
By restructuring the processes, revisioning completely
the QM-documentation as well as a high quality training
of employees, our QM-System has been adapted to DIN EN ISO 9001:2000.
The audit of recertification made by Lloyds Register Ltd., took place on 20 Nov. 02 without any complaints;
Since 9 January 03, we are in possessionof the valid certificate.

Since March 1997 our QM-system (system of quality management) has benn certified according to DIN EN ISO 9002 : 1994 by Lloyds Register.
In the beginning, it demanded a great effort to introduce the new QM-system, but it soon turned out to a big success.
The result was an improvement in the organisation of all processes as well as a better quality of the products which is due to the improved quality checks and the reduced number of complaints.
It is one of our main concerns to be up-to-date all the time. Therefore, we have constantly been working on the conversion of our QM-system from DIN EN ISO 9002: 1994 to DIN EN ISO 9001: 2000 since fall 2001.
Concerning the documentation, a conversion has partly been achieved so far. In order to get used to work in accordance with the new regulations, all the employees take part in special trainings.
The Company is planning to get the new certification according to DIN EN ISO 9001: 2000 this fall which would be before the expiration of the old certification.
